Human Rights Defenders Secure Communication Platform
A secure mobile application for high-risk users, including secure communication, real-time location sharing, and SOS alert functionality.
Role
Full Stack / Mobile Developer
Recorded outcome
Supported safer communication patterns for high-risk users.
Connected location sharing and alert workflows to urgent response needs.
Balanced usability with security-sensitive product constraints.
Overview
This secure communication platform supported human rights defenders and other high-risk users through mobile communication, location sharing, and SOS alert workflows.
Problem
High-risk civic users need tools that are direct, private, and usable during urgent moments. A system that is too complicated is not safe in practice.
Users
Human rights defenders, high-risk field users, and response teams.
My role
I contributed across mobile workflows, backend integration, secure communication flows, and alert-oriented product behavior.
Technical challenge
The main challenge was balancing security-sensitive behavior with speed, clarity, and reliability in stressful operating conditions.
Architecture
The platform combined mobile client workflows, backend APIs, location services, and alert dispatch logic.
Key features
- Secure communication flows.
- Real-time location sharing.
- SOS alert functionality.
- Mobile-first user experience.
- Backend support for urgent workflows.
Impact
The platform gave high-risk users a clearer way to communicate location and emergency context when speed mattered.
Stack
Mobile application development, backend APIs, location services, alert systems, and secure communication patterns.
