Privacy policy
Last revised:
This site presents my software and data work, services, and selected projects. This policy explains what information is handled when you visit the site or contact me.
When you contact me
If you email, call, message me on WhatsApp, or book a meeting, I receive the details you choose to share, such as your name, contact details, and message. I use them to respond and manage the conversation. Email, phone, WhatsApp, and meeting bookings are handled through the providers you choose to use, under their own privacy practices.
The form on the Contact Me page is not connected to a delivery service. Submitting it is blocked in your browser, and the message does not reach me. Please use the email, phone, WhatsApp, or booking links on that page instead. Avoid sending sensitive personal information unless it is needed for our conversation.
Information collected when you visit
The public version of this site loads an analytics script from Umami Cloud. The script records page views and related visit information such as the referring page, browser, operating system, device type, and country. Umami says its tracker does not use cookies or track visitors across websites, and that its analytics data is anonymised. You can read Umami’s Privacy Policy and analytics FAQ.
The site’s hosting provider may also process technical request information, such as your IP address, browser, requested page, and request time, to deliver and protect the site. Some pages load typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google to retrieve them. Google may receive technical information with those requests; see Google’s Privacy Policy.
Links to other services
This site links to services including Google Calendar, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Instagram, and X. Following a link takes you to that service, which may collect information under its own privacy policy. I do not control how those services handle information.
How long information is kept
I keep messages for as long as they are needed to respond, manage a professional conversation, or meet a legal obligation. When they are no longer needed, I delete them or remove details that identify you where practical. Umami Cloud handles storage and retention of its analytics records under its own policies.
Sharing and storage
I do not sell personal information. I use providers for website hosting, analytics, email, and the third-party services you choose to contact me through. Some providers may process information outside Kenya. Their privacy policies explain their handling of that information.
Your choices and rights
Kenya’s Data Protection Act provides rights concerning personal information, which may include access, correction, objection to processing, and deletion in circumstances set out by law. To ask about information you have shared directly with me, email eric@ericnjuguna.com. You can also contact Kenya’s Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
Updates and contact
I may revise this policy as the site and its features change. The date above shows when it was last revised. For privacy questions, email eric@ericnjuguna.com or call +254 791 821 992.
